Caroline Harvey

9-1-1974 – 1-3-2014

Caroline was a much loved Daughter, Sister, Wife and step Mum as well as a friend and colleague of many. Her great love was her horses and dog, but tragically had a fall from her horse while enjoying the sport she loved.

Caroline lived life to the full and was always flying around like a whirlwind, enjoying holidays and sporting activities as well as being a very successful business woman.

The sunflower was her favourite flower which grows in abundance in her much loved place in France.

Caroline was generous with her love and inspired many with her enthusiasm and drive, we will treasure the many gifts and memories she gave over the years.

Caroline’s nick names were many, but our little piglet will live on forever in our hearts and memories.

Carolines Organ Donation and the money raised for the Air Ambulance in her memory will continue helping other people in the future which she would have been proud of and we were too.

Love always Mum, Dad and Brother

Kirstie Jayne Booker

22-4-1980 – 10-12-2006

Kirstie died following a car accident. It was quite ironic that it should happen in December as this was her favourite month with all the festive activities, she had spent 6 hours the previous day decorating the Christmas tree at work.

The picture of Kirstie was taken at her nephew Finley’s christening where she had the pleasure of being his God Mother.

The borders are shades of pink, and although she was not a girly girl it was her favourite colour.

The majority of people who attended her funeral wore something pink in her memory.

We are always proud of Kirstie in both life and continuously in death.

Love always X X X

Connor Charles Edward Saunders

25-3-1993 – 14-4-2012

Connor Charles Edward Saunders born on 25th March 1993 and completed us as a family.

His love for life, family, football he was a centre defender, golf the gym was truly Unique. CBear his footie team named him. A massive Chelsea fan.

On 14th April 2012 Connor lost his life to a senseless act of violence “One Punch” he was 19.

Connor was our gentle giant, funny, caring, one of a kind.

Connor signed up to the Organ Donor Register at 16 and saved 5 lives.

Connor is our inspiration. He made our world a better place. 5 is alive.

Michael John Wilde

15-10-1974 – 19-7-2006

I made this patch for my son Michael. He was a real character. When he was 6 months told we were told he had a rare condition called Cornelia de Lange Syndrome. He had learning difficulties and couldn’t speak, but he used sign language. Michael enjoyed school and days out. Best of all he loved Christmas! Michael played Christmas songs all year round.

The patch has given me a chance to remember the happy times.

Cdls is for his condition, we started a Charity to help other Families. Nusic was a big part of his life so I included some notes. The heart represents his greatest gift and the stocking and tree just have to be there.

Michael was a very “Special” son who was much loved by all who knew him

Richard James Irving

25-6-1985 – 14-6-2016

Richard was a kind and caring person.

Richard loved his cars, his cats, going out with friends and his girlfriend.

Richard was a big Star Wars fan, he was covered from shoulder to wrist with tattoos of Star Wars characters.

His funeral had “Super Hero” theme.

Even I (his Mam) and his Dad wore T Shirts that said “Miss you Son, and your hugs”

Richard was signed up to the Donor Register, he gave the “Gift of Life” to 5 people.

Love always Mam, Dad, Heidi, Grant, all family and friends XXX

Paul Kelly

We love him forever.

Alice Burge

7-10-1993 – 23-12-2018

My quilt panel celebrates the memory of my daughter Alice.

The hexagons represent from top clockwise:
Alice’s love of music festivals and camping.
Alice’s favourite colours teal and duck egg blue.
The pink flowered fabric lined a coat I made for Alice when she was three.
The dots represent her “dottiness” and messiness!
The bright abstract print represents her love of life.
The number in the centre hexagon represent her job in Administration.
Alice had a heart of gold and loved birdcage themed jewellery and ornaments.
The background represents her vibrant life and her choice of blue and yellow funeral flowers.

Alice wanted to be an Organ Donor!

Elsa McKinley

Donated 24-5-2011

My “Gran” lived in Manchester, England, but would come to America and visit us every year.

My Gran had a wicked sense of humour and contagious laugh. She loved Kessler Whiskey with a splash of coke in the evenings. She absolutely loved to shop!

My Gran was a kind, gentle soul and loved animals.

As her grandson, I was fortunate to have had a “Gran” as amazing as she was.

At 80 years old, she was an eligible donor and saved a 75 year old man’s life with both of her kidneys.

Our heart ache that she has gone, but we are so honoured that her life saved another.

Alan Booth

9-12-1949 – 28-11-2015

Alan was a joker as a wonderful Husband and Dad. He was always keen to have a good laugh. An avid golfer, he loved his family and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life.

This picture is of him enjoying a beer and relaxing on holiday, the patch is partially made from the shirt he was wearing.

Alan was taken from us suddenly after suffering a brain aneurysm. We did not get time to say “goodbye” properly, but take some comfort in the fact he will always live on in our memories and the knowledge that he has given “the Gift of Life” to others.

Daniel Anthony Bellamy

19-2-1985 – 22-6-2012

Daniel, 27 years, was our only child and his death came as a complete shock.

Daniel loved to travel and had been all over the world. He spent time working in Alaska and loved the wildlife especially eagles.

When we came to design his patch we knew we had to include an eagle, we also wanted to show how much he was loved by all his family.

Knowing that people will see his patch makes us feel proud that he signed up to be a Donor at 16 years.

We think of his spirit soaring above us like a beautiful eagle.

Joanne and Neil Bellamy
(Mum and Dad)

Samuel Joseph Hawkridge

18-12-1995 – 31-10-2004

This patch of love contains the things that Sam loved, trains, football and Thunderbirds.

Sam was a happy, lovable 8 year old, he was our little Star. He suddenly suffered a Brain Haemorrhage and never regained consciousness.

Sam enjoyed school and being a member of cubs, going camping and taking part in activities at camp and learning to swim.

His dad had just started taking him to football matches, supporting Derby County.

Sam’s main love was trains, especially Thomas the Tank engine, steam trains and model railways just like his Grandad.

Sam’s donation helped five people have a better quality of life.

Barry Peter Ernest Evans

4-4-1953 – 8-2-2018

Barry was the love oof my life “my soulmate” we met when we were 14 and spent 50 years together. He was the most kind, generous, gentle man, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who was taken far too soon.

We take great comfort and pride that because of his organ donation Barry has saved the lives of two people and that part of him still lives on. He would be so pleased that he was able to help others.

Patches of Love also allows us to share with others what a wonderful, kind and thoughtful person Barry was and keep his memory alive.

Anthony Harris

18-3-1968 – 9-6-2021

You gave no one a last farewell

You didn’t say Goodbye

You were gone before we knew it

And we still are asking why

In life we loved you dearly

In death we love you still

You hold a place within our hearts

That no one else can fill

We want to tell you something

So there won’t be any doubt

You’re so wonderful to think of

But so hard to be without

Eleanor Grace McGrath

2-6-1994 – 10-3-2009

Our daughter Eleanor was a ray of sunshine and the bright, cheerful material signifies her happy nature.

Eleanor was full of life, loving sport and music, a fabulous mimic (of celebrities and some people closer to home!) and was a cherished daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend.

Eleanor was killed aged 14 when a young driver lost control of his car and mounted the pavement, knocking her down. A freak accident that we will never get over but successful donation of her kidneys and heart valves brought us some comfort at the time and pride in the ensuing years.

I hope this quilt makes others realise the importance of Organ Donation.

Ian Philip Foster

Donated 9-12-2012

Ian loved Barton Marina, and walk around the water with his wife Carrie and daughter Isla. My husband and I bumped into them one summer’s day there when they were feeding the ducks.

Barton Marina has a bench dedicated to Ian’s memory. Ian’s patch represents the ducks that are seen every day from the bench. The red surround represents his beloved football team Liverpool. Since Ian’s death his son Max has been born, who he would have loved taking to football matches.

Ian lived life to the full. After leaving school he pursued a career in the health industry and became a Chief Pharmacy Technician.

Ian’s last gift to humanity was his tissue, although he also donated his organs, sadly they could not be used. Even in death Ian is still helping others.

His brother Greg says “A good person would always help people; a great person helps people after they have gone. I’m proud to say Ian was both”.

We will never walk alone.

Daniel James Redman

2-10-1995 – 21-2-2016

Daniel was my precious youngest son and a beloved little brother to Adam and Ben. He died suddenly on 21st February 2016.

Daniel carried an Organ Donor Card and donated five organs, saving the lives of four people.

The patch was made with love by my sister to show some of the things he loved.

The Burnley crest and football his love oof all things football.

Lord of the Rings his favourite film since childhood.

The emoji represents his love of making people laugh.

Daniel loved many different genres of music and all animals- especially cats.

The two hearts symbolise his heart carried forever in mine

And the butterflies hope and new life.

“There is no end, it’s all a beginning”

David Massey

16-12-1953 – 27-5-2018

David died following a massive Cerebral Haemorrhage.

David was a loving Husband, irreplaceable Dad and a brilliant Grandad and Great Grandad.

David’s great passion was angling, but he also liked playing the guitar, football and art.

David is missed by everyone who knew him, but lives on in others by donation.

Loved and missed so much “Our Hero”

Oliver Laurence Amess

1-6-1995 – 28-1-2022

Our son Oliver was suddenly admitted to hospital on 8th January 2022, where he was diagnosed with a brain tumour, an inoperable high grade brain stem Glioma. On 28th January Oliver passed away peacefully and became a “Donation Hero”. The gift he gave that day has given four others the chance to live longer and happier lives, for which we are so proud of him.

The material background of Harry Potter represents Oliver’s early years an avid reader of the books, watcher of the films. Hs school friends’ nick named him Harry Potter because of his round glasses.

The gold and black music signifies his football team Wolverhampton Wanderers his lifelong passion, the notes are the start of “Hi Ho Silver Lining”.

The hearts to represent his “Gift of Donation”, and the Love he filled our lives with.

Mark Piotr

12-4-1968 – 5-5-2017

This patch represents everything that was dear to Mark.

His much loved dog Isla to his footie team Tottenham Hotspur.

Enjoying a brew of Yorkshire Tea and an orange club biscuit up a mountain was his favourite pass time.

Miss you every day Karen X X

William Lloyd

5-12—1973 – 23-7-2012

William was our 4th child, he was a very caring person even after his death donating his organs to help other live a better life.

William will never be forgotten by all his family and friends.

The most sadness is we will never hold his hands again.

We will all love and miss him now and for ever more.

R I P William

Ian Perkins

15-3-1969 – 19-1-2003

Ian was a much loved husband, full of fun and laughter.

Ian sadly died from a brain aneurysm shortly after becoming a new dad to Sophie born in November 2001.

Aston Villa was his favourite team – although he would watch any team or sport for that matter.

Memories of Ian include him spending numerous hours trying to get a part back onto the car only to be advised by his right hand man in all things (his father in law Colin) he was doing it upside down! His face was a picture.

The time he tried to do plastering and came home with more on him than the walls.

We can safely say DIY was not Ian’s thing.

Ian was so kind and giving, Ian will always be remembered with love.

Ian’s “Gift of Life” to others will always make us so proud as we continue to share his story and support Organ Donation.

Zara Patel

23-3-2001 – 9-6-2002

Zara was the second daughter of Rebecca and Sunil, she passed away from Pneumococcal Meningitis following a very short illness.

Zara was a fun easy going toddler, she’d mastered walking, and was just beginning to speak. Zara loved being outside, playing in the garden, looking at animals and playing with her sister.

Included in Zara’s patch is her favourite toy which was a giraffe. The teddy bear fabric has been taken from the huge hood from her favourite towel.

Zara donated her Heart and a lobe from her Liver. The fact that she was able to donate her organs has been a massive comfort to the family.

Zara will always be missed XX

Iain Alistair Fallow

18-10-1983 - 18-11-2001

Shortly after Iain was born, he was rushed to the special care baby unit where he spent the first month of his life, coming home on November 18th.

After being allowed home, it soon became apparent that all was not well and he was eventually diagnosed with cerebral palsy and left sided hemiplegia.

Over time he developed epilepsy but, despite all his problems, he was an active child with a cheeky sense of humour and devilment.

Unlike most children, he loved vegetables, along with all other food, and broccoli and sprouts would be the first things eaten. We often wonder whether this trait was passed on to his recipients!

As the severity of his fits increased it was eventually decided that brain surgery might help so, after a few hiccups, he had an operation. All was well for a week, he was due to be discharged when a major complication, which even the consultant couldn’t explain, occurred. He was rushed to theatre on a Saturday evening and a couple of hours later we were told that there was nothing that could be done for him.

Iain donated on November 18th aged 18.
